Description

Using an asphalt crack sealer with a professional asphalt crack machine to properly fill cracks in pavement prior to applying new sealcoating is easily the most important aspect of proper asphalt maintenance. Many professionals will tell you that crack filling is even more important because it safeguards against moisture from penetrating the crack and causing larger problems such as "Alligator Asphalt" and soft spots under the pavement which will create Pot Holes.

The RynoWorx 10 Gallon Econo asphalt crack machine is designed for single-operator use, weighs only 135 lbs, and pushes easily on a solid surface because it sits on three solid steel wheels. The front wheel to our crack machine is a swivel wheel with upper and lower bearings with lube points allowing for random asphalt crack filling (See the video). Despite its name being an "Economy" crack melter, the RY10-MA is still a solid unit. It isn't built with quite as much care as our BIG A 10 Gallon crack machine, but it is still a great choice for contractors or budget-minded individuals. It gets the job done without a hassle and it has been one of our most popular units by far.

The RynoWorx RY10-MA-V3 asphalt crack machine utilizes the new and improved RynoValve design allowing the operator to control the flow of hot pour rubber asphalt crack sealer by simply adjusting the hand-operated pull rod. It also has removable handles making it easy to store when space is limited.

One man using our asphalt crack sealer can fill up to 400 Lineal feet of pavement crack up to 1/2" wide and 1" deep per hour and 3200 ft per day when used in conjunction with our 30-gallon stationary melter. This is one of the biggest reasons professionals prefer to use our asphalt crack machine as it eliminates the need for bulky equipment, squeegees, and extra manpower.

This asphalt crack machine is built tough with 14 gauge steel and 1/4" thick steel wheels. It incorporates an "In-shot Burner" design allowing you to easily store it and use it to flash heat your valve in colder weather.

This system comes complete with an LP regulator, 4' hose, and thermometer, all you will need is hot pour rubber (direct fire) asphalt sealer and a 20 LB bottle of propane and you're ready to fill cracks.

Proper preparation is really the key when performing asphalt maintenance and you can be assured that using our asphalt crack machine will save you time and money and deliver exceptional and professional results.

ASD10 Asphalt Crack Machine Operation

Operation of the ASD10 is the same as all other push melters on the market. It's easy. Follow the crack with the shoe and pull the handle to release crack filler.

Just watch how easy it is to use our ASD10 Crack Machine.

ASD10 Asphalt Crack Machine Manual Agitation

Mechanical agitation is extremely important helping to keep the melted rubber mixed thoroughly and as you can tell by the below video, you can easily agitate the asphalt crack sealer material with the built-in agitation bar.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to melt rubber in a direct fire melter?

The answer to this question has a few variables that makes it difficult to give a direct answer. The one consistent answer we can give is that you can generally "begin using" the melter within 25 - 35 minutes of firing it up from a cold start.

The two biggest variables to consider are outside temperature and wind. The colder or windier it is, the longer it will take to melt rubber. The size of the melter and amount of rubber will also be factors. Just make sure you maintain the melter temperature at the recommended temperature (usually 375ºF - 400ºF) and always keep a new block of rubber on the already melted rubber to maintain best performance. Exceeding the rubbers melting temperature can burn the rubber and alter its properties. Double check your rubber instructions for proper operating temperatures.

Without going into a lot of detail about the process, it generally takes between 1 - 2.5 hours depending on melter size and volume of rubber to fully melt the blocks from a cold start. This is true on pretty much any direct fire melter regardless of brand and design. The thing to note though, is that you can most certainly use the melter before the blocks of rubber have fully melted.

How do you clean a direct fire melter?

Short Answer: You Don't - Direct fire melters generally don't need to be emptied or cleaned between use. If you're on the job and only use half of the material, simply shut the burner off and allow the remaining rubber to cool back to a solid state. The next time you need to use the melter, ignite the burner and allow the existing rubber to re-melt. On the push melters, you'll find that the wheels will build up rubber as you roll over filled cracks and this can become quite annoying. Simply grab a plumbers torch (sold at any hardware store) and burn off any rubber that has accumulated. This same method can be used anywhere on the melter where you feel it needs minor cleanup.
