The Clipper Ship EM-50 is a contractor grade SS1-h asphalt emulsion tack coat that is designed to meet the AASHTO M208 standards as well as any state specific requirements, ensuring a quality product on the job for driveway and parking lot paving professionals.
Whenever a commercial primer or tack coat is required for proper adhesion to bituminous asphalt, the EM-50 Tack Coat is designed for it.
Geared up towards general pavement maintenance crews, this product is ideal as a tack coat for hot or cold asphalt patch, overlays or as a primer for sub-grades where new asphalt is being installed.
Depending on the surface being covered, EM-50 can be applied with a brush, squeegee, spray equipment and provides coverage of 150 square feet per gallon. The maximum temperature allowable for application for EM-50 is 160°F.

Does this product require special equipment to heat it?
Yes. For best results, heating this product to approximately 160ºF is required.
