Mag Lute Rakes

Mag Lute rakes are a very common tool used by asphalt repair professionals to finalize leveling of both hot mix asphalt and cold patch before compaction. Mag Lute rakes can either have a solid leading edge with no teeth or they can come with teeth for biting down into the material and helping keep it loose so it's easier to level out. The term Mag Lute, actually stands for "Magnesium Lute" because the head of the lute is usually made from the light metal Magnesium. The term Lute comes from an old process of "sealing with lute clay", and the name Lute Rake has stuck around since. Lute Rakes are typically used in the concrete and overlay industry but work extremely well in the asphalt industry.
