ASD300 / ASD520 Start up Guide and User Manual

Revision 1.1

Congratulations on the purchase of your new ASD Sealcoating Spray System, please read these instructions carefully before using you equipment.
By following these instructions you will insure that your equipment will last for years to come.
Upon receiving the equipment, please perform the following steps before filling the tank with sealer:

  • Check the engine oil and if necessary add only a high quality 10W-30 Non Detergent motor Oil.
  • Check and tighten ALL plumbing fittings and hose fittings. Fittings are not tightened at factory because they loosen in the freight process. It is YOUR responsibility to tighten all fittings before use!
  • Check equipment for any damage and missing parts and report to us

Take a moment and familiarize yourself with your system, valve functions, wand, and general overview of system components.

Use and Application

Sealer optimal application mixture should be mixed at 40:1 ratio or 60% concentrate sealer and 40% water.

This system will accept sand mixture as well as latex additives. We recommend Latex be added if your spraying with sand.

  1. Fill tank with desired amount of sealer and water
  2. Turn off wand valve
  3. Open the large circulation valve fully
  4. Open main tank valve fully
  5. Remove small primer cap on pump and fill it with water and replace cap
  6. Start the engine and allow pump to circulate sealer for a minimum of 15 minutes

You are ready to begin spraying!

While holding the wand, slowly open the wand valve and closing the circulation valve, this will direct the flow of sealer to the wand.

You can adjust the wand pressure at the circulation valve and the wand valve.

When finished spraying, turn off your wand valve and open the circulation valve.

IMPORTANT!!!
When you shut the pump off, quickly close your tank valve so sealer stays in the pump and pump remains primed.
If you lose prime, simply follow the steps above to restart the pump.

Cleaning and Sandbar removal

Water should be run through your system periodically if you use water based products.

If you use oil based products, Diesel can be used.

If you allow sand / sealer to sit in tank for more than 24 hours, it is advisable to open lid and use a rake to rake across the settled material in bottom of tank before starting pump and re-circulating the sealer.

This system can be used for tack coating as well, you will need to vary the mixture ratio as called for in the instructions with the product you are spraying and clean up will be necessary with Diesel.

Do not allow any air to enter hoses or wand to prevent tack from drying inside the system.
Failure to comply will make the system very difficult to clean.
