    Scope: Suitable for application to traffic bearing surfaces such as Portland cement, concrete, bituminous pavement and plain or vitrified brick surfaces of streets, highways, bridges, tunnels and parking lots.

    Types:

    • Type I - Slow Drying
    • Type II - Fast Drying

    Federal Specification TT-P-1952

    Scope: This specification covers three types of low VOC (volatile organic compounds), ready-mixed, one-component, 100% acrylic waterborne airfield and traffic marking paint. The paint is suitable for application on such traffic-bearing surfaces as Portland cement concrete, bituminous cement concrete, sphalt, tar, and previously painted areas of these surfaces. The paint may be used either alone or to bind reflective beads.

    Types:

    • Type I - For use under normal conditions where relative humidity is low (50% or less) and larger Type IV glass beads are not used. Great for light-use roads and parking lots.
    • Type II - For use under adverse conditions where relative humidity is high (80% or less) and larger Type IV glass beads are not used. Great for low tire-marking needs for heavy use roads, light use roads and parking lots.
    • Type III - For increased durability and applications that specifically call for a high build paint where Type IV glass beads are necessary. Type III is typically used on and required for airport runway use.
