Ennis-Flint by PPG PreMark vs PreMark XF Preformed Thermoplastic

View PreMark XF Products for sale

Ennis-Flint by PPG has two different lines of Preformed Thermoplastic: PreMark and PreMark XF

While the name makes them sound similar, the only similarity they share is their usage which is a preformed thermoplastic marking on pavement.

PreMark

PreMark is the original series that has been around for many years. It is based on very old technologies for thermoplastic manufacturing and as a result is an outdated product that shouldn't be used for most projects. PreMark is stiff, extremely brittle in colder weather and just hard to work with. If you've ever had to mess with it you know what we're talking about.

The only time you should ever consider the older PreMark series is for state jobs that specify PreMark on the approved product list and hasn't been updated to approve the PreMark XF series. If you are in a state capacity where you can get in front of the advisory board and have them look at adding additional products, we highly recommend that you suggest testing and updating to the PreMark XF series.

We have access to the PreMark line and if you need it, we will be more than happy to sell it but it is only available through phone orders +1(800) 689-2098

PreMark XF

PreMark XF is a much newer product that has been around since roughly 2015 and it was designed from the ground up with new advancements, materials and technologies to be a pliable, flexible and an easy-to-work-with product. For all projects that don't specify a required specification, we will always push for the PreMark XF product.

We are actively selling the PreMark XF series online as an easy point and click shopping cart experience.

Competition

There are several other companies such as Geveko and PREFORM that also manufacture preformed thermoplastics and they are on-par with PreMark XF in terms of quality but have their own spin on the manufacturing processes and materials.

Geveko is geared towards selling direct to the customer instead of through distributors and it's believed they are on several state approved vendor lists.

PREFORM is geared more towards contractors that don't have state requirements for their projects.
